Plot
A plot is a series of related events that make up a story: exposition, inciting moment, rising action, climax, falling action, and denouement (resolution).

Protagonist - the main character of the story
Antagonist - the adversary of the protagonist Setting - where and when the story takes place (this may include weather) Conflict - the problem or struggle facing the protagonist Character vs. Character Character vs. Nature Character vs. Society Character vs. Self Flashback - interruption of the present action to show past events Foreshadowing - clues that suggest something that will happen later Motivation- why the character acts in a certain way Atmosphere or Mood - the feeling created by the author through events, description, and dialogue Tone - the attitude of the author, narrator, or a character Theme - the lesson or insight about life that a literary work expresses |
