Simple Sentences
A simple sentence has one independent clause and no subordinate clauses.
A simple sentence can have adjectives, adverbs, direct objects, indirect objects, predicate nominatives or adjectives, prepositional phrases, or verbals. Examples: The last batter was Joe. Joe hit last. Brandon threw the ball. Brandon threw me the ball Brandon threw the ball to Chloe. Playing baseball is fun. Rachel likes to play shortstop. Moving quickly, Brandon threw the ball to first. |
