Indirect Objects
An indirect object is a noun, pronoun, or group of words that tells to whom, to what, for whom, or for what the action of the verb was performed. Sentences with indirect objects must have direct objects. To find the indirect object, ask to or for whom or what did ____________________(subject) ____________________(verb) the ____________________(direct object).
Example:
Mom made Jess and me tacos for dinner last night.
Subject = Mom Verb = made Direct Object = tacos
Ask yourself. "Who did Mom make the tacos for?" The answer is Jess and me. Jess and me is the direct object.
Example:
Mom made Jess and me tacos for dinner last night.
